2010-Current: Founder, Director GBSA Limited: formed to undertake formal/ informal non-Exec and Strategic adviser roles to CEOs, and focus on specific areas of interest/expertise through network of associates.  Focus to date: Adviser to CEO at Birdseye Iglo Group – transformational acquisition opportunity/ various strategic projects (see recent projects). Plus market evaluation/executive coaching roles for FMCG leader 

2006-2009: Director Strategic Planning and Main Board Member for Permira-owned Birdseye Iglo Group (€1.3 billion, 50% UK).  Recruited directly by Chief Executive.

Responsibility for:

-          Defining the strategic direction of the business; translating into operational strategies for the eight European Market Units;

-          Developing market expansion opportunities in emerging markets (Focus Russia, Turkey and Eastern Europe/CIS);

-          Providing non-Exec type direction/mentoring to key market GMs

-          Resolving cross-functional strategic issues (e.g. alliances, portfolio strategy)

-          Defining acquisition strategy: identify key targets, develop strategic rationale, build business cases to support bids/secure financing.

1987-2006: Mars & Co. Consulting, London (Leading international strategy consultants with offices in London, Paris, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo, Shanghai).

2003–2006:  Senior Vice President (Head of London office)

1996-2003:  Vice President (Joint Head of London office)

1987-1996:  Consultant, Senior Consultant, Project Manager

Responsible for leading major assignments with top management, working for world leaders (no. 1 or 2) in food, soft drinks, beer and consumer electronics; European leaders in Telco (fixed and mobile), white goods and energy.  Typically 5-10 projects a year, both in the  UK and overseas.  Plus all aspects of running London Office (30-40 staff):

ź            business generation (new projects and clients)

ź            supervision of major contracts and quality assurance

ź            staff development, appraisal and all HR aspects

ź            recruitment of new consultants
